Doughnut Day!

Our most delicious tradition was this last Sunday and we had a special guest this time! My best friends' little boy Jonah who LOVES doughnuts just as much as his Daddy does!

All the grandkids -minus Brinley and Nolan....one was asleep, the other didn't really care for it this year.

I think she loved blowing out the candle more than eating it!

It's the big cheese party!! Packed with a hearty Mac 'n' Cheese dinner and of course... cream cheese filling in Brinley's cake! I put the pictures in the wrong order...yet again. Sorry.

This was the next morning and she was very happy to have new toys! At first this "fancy nancy" feather boa (sp?) freaked her out....

But then I found her in the closet thinking she was a princess with it!

This is where she puts her baby set and plays- all the time. MAKE ME CRAZY!

Of course she loved the cake but she also loved eating the little black fondant mice. (wanna scare your spouse the next morning when they go to change a diaper...let your child eat black fondant!) YUK!

So I am starting my own cake business...I intended to wait until I had more practice and especially planned to wait until my kids were a little older but hey....I dove right in. I'm working on starting my website www.simplysweetbyleslie.com and it is a work in progress as I gather pictures of cakes, cookies and cupcakes that I have made and also sort out pricing so be patient... but here are a few that I have worked on in the past couple of months.

Cowboy Ranch. This was a lot of fun and Brigham was soooo excited to see "real" cowboys. Too bad the allergies and asthma flared up so we made it through the dinner but couldn't make it for the show afterwards. As we were finishing up dinner a cowboy came through and in his "rough cowboy talk" asked if anyone wanted some hot, fresh-brewed coffee....after saying no thanks, Brigham turned to me and said "Mom, do aaaall the cowboys drink coffee?" I said yes and he looked so disappointed cause I think he wanted to be one.

Ahhhh....LOVE!

1st Day of Kindergarten

"BEFORE SCHOOL". We couldn't get out the door soon enough! Brigham was dressed and ready to go at 7:45am. "Is it time?" "Is it time now?!" We ended up leaving early, walked very slow and were still 10 minutes early! When it came time to line up and go inside, his teacher Mrs. Lemmon (or Mrs. Melon as Brigham keeps calling her) she said "Wave goodbye to your mommies and daddies".... he waived but didn't even look for me. He was WAY beyond ready to get in there!

"AFTER SCHOOL" Very very happy! I asked if he met any new friends and he named Parker, who is in his Primary class... I asked if he met anybody new at his table and he replied very embarrassed to say "Moooom, there's just ALL girls at my table!" Oh boy!

Brigham's First Tooth Gone!

I sent Brigham to bed tonight telling him to keep wiggling his tooth cause it's been loose for so long and ten minutes later he comes to me telling me it's stuck! He wiggled it to the point it really was stuck and it just needed one snug twist. EWE that sounds gross! But sure enough- it came out into my hand and I freaked out more than he did which made him not know if he should be scared or excited. Anyway, he's very excited for the tooth fairy to come tonight! Maybe because his Pops told him the first tooth out is worth a whoppin' $5.00!!! Nice! Goodbye to my little gap-toothed boy!

He still LOVES Indaiana Jones so of course we had to go to the Mayan, aka "the temple of doom" with his best friend Alex who also loves Indiana Jones. We also went to the Ice Age movie, which Brinley kept me on my feet 90% of the time. It was a very fun birthday and can hardly wait for dad to get home this weekend for another party!

CATCHIN' UP!

Daddy came in to visit. The picture struggles- if you can't tell they were all tired from getting up early and the sun was quite bright.....but he was here, so we were happy! (and Brigham's shoes were on the wrong feet- wow! not their best photo)

So my cute little Karate Kid started lessons this month and it is the cutest thing to watch when they are trying to figure out how to function their bodies to kick and punch at the same time. I'm not a huge fan of karate but now that he's in it I think it's a really great way for kids to learn to listen and follow directions. Also it's a great option for a poor little kid with Asthma.

Next....my dad finished his Camaro. SSSSWWWEEETTT! I can never remember what year it is but I do know how much my husband drools over it. Cade has loved this car ever since the movie Better Off Dead came out. Maybe one day my dad will let him drive it. (Ya right!)

Then there was Sam's birthday....I gave a good attemp at being the Ace of Cakes....atleast the smoker bomb made the cake right? Sam thinks that black clouds are the best so I had to add a smoker bomb for the candle. Too bad we couldn't find a black one but for the kids sake we went through every other color they had. Just don't find yourself standing on a corner when his truck comes your way, you'll end up choking on his exhaust!

I know the pictures are out of order but it's late, the kids are finally in bed, I've put up a post, and now I need to unpack like crazy while I don't have any distractions! This is the kids begging to ride the car train!!!! We went to this ghetto ameusment park after we found out how much it was per person to go to the top of the Space Needle. Brigham was CERTAIN there were Aliens up at the top. At $20 per person!! Sorry Brigham.

Brinley bawled her eyes out when the worker unbuckled her and lifted her out of the ride....glad it was him, not me!

What a little lady!! So bored on the drive back to Spokane but hey- if she's quiet then I'm fine with it!

We...I mean I was so lucky nobody was sitting next to me so Brinley had room to sprawl out and get comfy for a nap.

The Aquarium.... cute for kids.... not that exciting.

Wow! Seattle s so pretty! It's what I imagined Spokane to be... I was sooooooo wrong. Atleast we were able to take a family trip there before the kids and I came back home to Utah to see the Mariners play the Red Socks. We definatly had our up and downs on this trip but overall had a good time.

Isn't that such a cute picture of them together!!! I love it! I don't know why I think it's weird but it's just such a natural instinct for a little girl to want to play mommy. Brinley LOVES her new baby and her new stroller! I'm sure the reason she loves her so much is because she gets to feed her a bottle. It is now day 6 of no bottle for Brinley anymore. Had to post these! They melt my heart!

Our First Circus, Probably Our Last

So we were pretty pumped to go to the circus but should have figured out that a $10 ticket doesn't really give you a great circus. We got their early for an elephant ride (picture to come) but Brigham was terrified the whole time thinking the elephant waddling side to side was trying to make us fall off so he was clinging to dear life and yelling my name. Then it began. Here and there a few cool tricks. Brinley fell asleep. Saw a bunch of white horses. Saw about 15 white poodles. And finally saw some really cute elephants....for about 5 minutes at the very end. BUT THE COTTON CANDY WAS YUMMY! Brigham was sad there weren't any tigers.
